Hey there, fellow cannabis enthusiasts! I'm Jeff Guyton, and I'm thrilled to connect with you all through this platform. As the Chief Operating Officer here at pH Solutions, I'm excited to share a bit about myself and how I ended up on this incredible journey in the cannabis industry.
When I was a burgeoning professional, I held a deep appreciation for the wonders of cannabis. But as life would have it, I found myself pursuing a traditional path, majoring in business and diving into the corporate world post-college. Spoiler alert: I absolutely hated it.
After a stint in the business world, I realized my true calling lay elsewhere. I pursued my passion for education and spent time teaching in inner-city Detroit, striving to be a positive male role model for my students. Eventually, my journey led me to the University of Michigan, where I delved into fundraising and discovered my affinity for building relationships and making meaningful connections.
Fast forward to the era of COVID-19, and like many of you, I found myself reassessing my priorities and seeking fulfillment in new avenues. I turned to my lifelong passion for cannabis and began cultivating my own craft cannabis. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and I soon found myself immersed in the caregiver business, providing quality products to those who shared my appreciation for premium cannabis.
However, as Michigan legalized cannabis, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by cultivators and caregivers alike. Thin margins and increasing regulations made it difficult for those with high standards to stay afloat. That's when fate intervened, and I found myself at pH Solutions, where I connected deeply with the vision and mission of the company.
As COO, my role is all about problem-solving and bridging the gap between passion and profitability. I understand the complexities of both sides of the business, from the art of cultivation to the intricacies of cost analysis and profitability.
